What should or should not be stored in a self-storage unit?
A self-storage is an excellent option for storing the overflow of many different types of materials from your home or business. We recommend storing unused or large items such as furniture or appliances. We do not allow for hazardous materials, chemicals or other flammable liquids.
What types of items are usually stored in a self-storage unit?
While there are numerous items that are allowed to be stored in our units, the most common items include furniture, bicycles and belongings such as clothes or unused appliances. However, anything from holiday decorations to large furniture pieces may be stored in our facilities. We do not allow for any hazardous items such as flammable material or liquids and chemicals.

How should I choose the right size self-storage unit?
Estimating how much space you will need for your storage items can be easy if you know what you want to store. Here are some simple guidelines to assess your self-storage needs.
Our smaller self-storage units are 5 x 5, 5 x 10, and 5 x 15 and are great for storing small seasonal items, extra clothing boxes, office supplies, books, or other small items. Typically, they have 8 – 10 foot high ceilings so if you pack well you may fit more than you expect into one of these smaller units.
Our average sized unit is anything within the 10 x 10 to the 10 x 20 range. These units contain plenty of space to hold the contents of a typical one-bedroom apartment (more or less depending on the unit size). One hundred square feet allows for plenty of space for two full rooms of furniture including sofas, bedroom furniture, kitchen appliances, and much more. You will probably even have room for extra boxes of clothing, kitchen items, seasonal items, or office records.
Our larger self-storage units are 10 x 25 – 10 x 30 and they provide plenty of space for 5 – 7 rooms of furniture or office equipment. It is a great sized unit to store boxes, bicycles, or smaller furniture items.
Should I be Insuring my stored items?
Whether you are planning to store business or personal belongings it's important to insure them since items in self-storage aren't generally covered by other policies such as homeowner or rental insurance
Can I store my vehicle in the self-storage facility?
Any type of vehicle can be stored at your self-storage parking space to free up room in your garage. Our self-storage facility is equipped with the ability to house vehicles, recreational vehicles (RVs) and even boats and other sea vessels. For availability, please call ahead at (856) 933-9334.
How do I pack efficiently for self-storage?
Our facilities come equipped with a place to make all your necessary packing purchases as well as a friendly staff available to assist you with the packing process. It is important that when packing your self-storage facility, you must be space-conscious and take the necessary means to properly store your belongings. Our staff is here to help make this process as simple as possible.
Choosing boxes and packing materials
Once the decision to move things into storage is made, the next step is to decide how to pack them correctly. One of our friendly staff members can assist you in choosing adequate boxes and materials to help conserve the most space within your unit.
All Bellmawr Self Storage boxes have double-walled construction and are UPS approved. Ask the Store Manager which boxes are best for the items you are packing. We offer standard-size boxes.
When moving and storing fragile items, cushioning should be a primary concern. Bellmawr Self Storage sells many different types of cushioning products, such as bubble wrap and packing paper.
Our store managers can help you estimate how much tape you need for the number of boxes you’ll be packing.
Bellmawr Self Storage offers disc locks and traditional padlocks. Disc locks are case-hardened, making them strike and pic proof.
When can I access my unit?
Our facility is open every day of the week from 6:30 AM to 9 PM, at which time you have complete and total access to your self-storage unit. Our office hours are Monday through Saturday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Our office is also open on Sundays from 10 AM to 4 PM.
